About Idiot Legal Tools

Idiot Legal Tools is a single-purpose website offering free, browser-based legal document generators and calculators. We built this site after noticing that most "free legal document" tools online are either buried inside bloated multi-category tool directories, or require an account, payment, or upload of personal details to a server before you can even preview the result.

Every tool on this site runs entirely as client-side JavaScript. When you fill in a form and click "Generate", the document is assembled inside your own browser — nothing is sent to us, logged, or stored on any server. Close the tab and the data is gone.

What We Are — and Are Not

Idiot Legal Tools is a documentation and drafting-assistance website. We are not a law firm, we do not employ practising advocates on this platform, and nothing generated here constitutes legal advice. Our tools are meant to save you time on the first draft of a common document — you should always have an advocate or legal professional review anything before you sign, file, or rely on it, especially for high-stakes matters such as wills, POAs, or court filings.
